Parks are located through the City of Paola including our historic dowtown Park Square which has been a gathering place since the city was founded more than 150 years ago. A beautiful Gazebo, restored in 2008, and a breathtaking fountain, both in the daytime and at night, are located in the Park.  Park Square is surrounded with retail, dining, professional offices, the City Library and the City Government offices.  Park Square is the home to many annual events including the Roots Festival, an annual two-day music festival and barbecue contest that attracts thousands of people.
